Well - this is not a full scale review, since I have written most of the classic Chuck Taylor stuff in my review of the CT All Star Hi. All I want to do here is to pop in some pictures and words describing the difference between the Hi and the Lo, so I'll keep it very short.

The CT All Star Ox is the low cut version of its elder brother - the CT AS Hi, and was introduced much later to appeal to a wider base of the Chuck Taylor loving populace. There is virtually no difference as far as the material and construction is concerned; the outsole remains the same and ditto for the white wraparound midsole you see on the original AS Hi's. But having said that, there are a few areas of differentiation between the two, and I'd like to point that out. The first major difference is the absence of the trademark "Chuck Taylor All Star" patch, which is a natural consequence of the Hi being converted into a Lo. The second one is that the Lo version sports a woven "All Star" label on the tongue, (see picture above) which is not found on the Hi version. I guess you win some and lose some.

Outsole: The Hi and the Lo versions share the same trademark outsole.

That's pretty much about it as far as the review is concerned. Whether you prefer the Hi or the Low version is a matter of personal choice, but one thing is certain: the happy duo of the Chuck Taylor Hi and Lo will continue to live on - forever.

The Lowdown:

Estimated US retail: $40
