This one-of-a-kind sizing tool converts your foot length (in centimeters or inches) into a specific shoe size in 60 current models across a dozen brands. To ensure best results, we combined our internal standardization of footwear sizes across a dozen brands with manually calibrated data for specific shoe models. To use this tool, select your foot length, and then choose the brand and model.

How to measure the foot size.

Place your larger foot on the ruler so that the longest tip of the foot lines up with the ruler markings. Record the CM measurement, with a +- 2 mm variance allowance. The heel should not be pressed hard against the wall; use a light touch. Enter the recorded CM value into our conversion tool, followed by the brand and model.

A 45 centimeter long Staedtler ruler.

We recommend getting a brand-name ruler (like Staedtler) from your neighborhood Staples for accurate measurements.

To find out your foot size (we recommend centimeters), place the flat end of a larger ruler against a wall. Wear your running socks, and place the foot over the scale. Allow a variance allowance margin of 2 MM and find the next or previous full or half CM size. In this example, the foot is placed at 27.9 CM marker, so the next full size is 28 CM. If the ruler shows 28.2 CM, round down to 28 CM instead of 28.5 CM. For accurate results, do not press your heel against the wall but maintain just the lightest contact. If your left or right foot is larger than the other, use the larger of the two to measure your size. Select the CM value from our dropdown to translate your foot length into a model-specific shoe size.

Our visual fit banner tells you whether a shoe fits true to size, loose, or tight. Our ‘fit notes’ section contains a brief commentary on that specific model. If a shoe fits shorter or longer than expected, our fit notes will explain why. For example, our tool will display a shoe like the Asics Metaspeed Sky Tokyo to fit a half-size looser/shorter (eg., US 9.5 instead of US 10). That’s because the decreased heel padding shifts the foot away from the toe-box, creating a half-size looser/longer fit. We have also mapped the conversion variances between US, UK, and CM sizes across major footwear brands. This tool has been manually calibrated to reflect the actual size run available in a specific model.

The goal of this tool is not guarantee a perfect fit for your feet; the variances in foot shapes and personal fit preferences makes that extremely difficult. The goal of this tool is remove one major layer of guesswork, while making traditional sizing charts a thing of the past.
